Despite it no longer being summer, we continue to perform wedding receptions in yurts. For the uninitiated, a yurt is a round, portable covered tent, quite distinct from a tipi which is a conical tent set upon wooden poles.
Unless you’re hiring for your wedding reception, in which case, both terms seem to be interchangeable.
Anyway, we’ve played two yurt / tipis recently, the latter in quite a small one. The disadvantage is that the sloping sides means that many bands will have little space to set up and will inevitable end up on the dance floor – unless you hire Hard to handle band!
Why? Because we’re not a large events band and we have a surprisingly compact set up, which means more space for your guests on the dance floor!
If you’re considering hiring a tipi / yurt for your wedding reception or party, you’ll need to talk to the band about how much space they need, and you may find that you won’t be able to accommodate them and their equipment.
That’s why, as a small band (with a great live sound), Hard to Handle band are perfect for your tipi / yurt, of in fact any available space!
