Whitby. Famous for Bram Stokers’ Dracula, fish and for being a picturesque fishing village clinging on to the north east coast. And also, as we discovered, it’s a party town! Or at least, Harry’s Bar is. Overlooking Whitby harbour, owner Harry has done a great job of maximising available space in a small venue. Notwithstanding, the area for live bands to set up in is about 10ft x 8ft, which would defeat many functions bands, who number five or more musicians.
Luckily, when searching for great sounding professional live entertainment for their sons’ 30th birthday party – with an Oktoberfest theme, no less – Harry and Julie found Hard to Handle. It was immediately clear to them that we were perfect both in terms of size and style, with powerful vocals and superb musicianship. Plus we were more than happy to set up in a small space without compromising any elements of our show.
So we did just that – loaded in, set up in a small space but leaving plenty of room on the dance floor. Guests filed in, dressed in lederhosen and serving wench garb. We played. Everyone of the over 100 guests got onto the dance floor and got a close up and personal view of how a professional creates and maintains a party atmosphere over the course of two hours of live music and additional DJ music.
Mitch got in touch via Facebook recently and told us “Awesome band really know how to get a party going made my 30th a night to remember. Thanks guys!” You can read more reviews on our Facebook page <click here>, or feel free to contact us direct on 0796 433 5657.
Oh, and by the way, if you’re concerned about hiring a non-local band for your wedding reception, party or business function, here’s some good news – we don’t make additional charges for travel and we always arrive on time.
