Performing at wedding receptions in December are always interesting.

If it’s early in December there’s a palpable frisson of energy in the room. We’re not sure if that’s due to the expectation of Christmas or because people haven’t done their shopping yet, but either way, guests can be a lot of fun.

Late December wedding receptions can be a different affair. Christmas has finished; people are still digesting their dinners and can be storing up their energies for new years’ eve.

So we guess we should apologise for a couple of hundred people not having the required energy to celebrate their new years’ eve with gusto.

Because a couple of days before new years’ eve we performed for Katie and Joe in the sumptuous banqueting hall at the council house in Birmingham city centre.

Now, not every band can perform well at the banqueting hall. The acoustics can be challenging and less experienced bands can get lost in a mush of sound.

So it’s just as well that Katie and Joe hired Hard to Handle band – we’re very experienced and know how to get the best out of any room.

The night was a great success and it was great to see people on the dance floor. Katie particularly loved our version of “Thinking out loud” by Ed Sheeran. We enjoyed ourselves too! Call us direct for great entertainment for any time of year – 0796 433 5657
